Brett Wald is the Managing Partner at the Roberts Tax Group where he leads and
supports a dedicated team focused on delivering exceptional accounting, tax, and tax representation services to individuals and small businesses. Brett’s top priority is ensuring that every client experiences the expertise, integrity, and personalized care that have made the firm a trusted partner in the community.

With more than a decade of professional experience, Brett has cultivated a reputation as a trusted advisor who simplifies the complexities of the tax landscape. His leadership extends beyond the firm—he has served as President of the Connecticut National Association of Tax Professionals and is currently the Vice President of the Litchfield BNI Group.

Brett’s career has been marked by his ability to foster meaningful client relationships and drive measurable results. He takes pride in empowering individuals and small businesses to navigate the challenges of taxation with confidence and clarity. His commitment to excellence and education has made him a sought-after leader in the field.

Brett resides in Goshen with his wife and two children. Outside of work, he enjoys
spending time with his family and pursuing his passion for golf.

Founding PartnerDr. Kristin Roberts, EA

Kris has almost thirty years’ experience in the field of accounting, taxation, and entrepreneurship. Earning her Doctor of Business Management degree, her field research focused on federal tax compliance for small businesses located in the state of Connecticut.

As an educator, Dr. Roberts served as Assistant Program Chair of the Accounting Department at The Malcolm Baldrige School of Business at Post University.  Kris’ love for teaching extends to her professional community as well.  She served as the Chair of the Education Committee for the CT Chapter of the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) for several years, before taking the position of President of the Chapter.  Kris also served as Vice-President for NATP’s national Board of Directors. She is a guest lecturer and speaker for a variety of professional and community organizations, including various Chambers of Commerce, SCORE, the Entrepreneurial Center of Northwest CT, and other state chapters of NATP.  Kris has authored a variety of tax related articles that have been published in the TaxPro Journal. Topics have included Taxation of Crowdfunding; First Time Delinquent Taxpayers; Casualty Losses; Profitability and Sustainability; and Partnership Dissolution.

Kris is a native of NW CT and currently lives in Winchester Center.  She is the proud mother of three grown sons and is the grandmother of eight.  When she is not working, she enjoys time with her family, listening to classic rock, live music, going on cruises, …and watching any Marvel movie!

With more than six years of experience in the field, Tala brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong track record of success to our firm. Her expertise in accounting and bookkeeping is a tremendous asset, allowing us to continue providing exceptional service to our clients. Her skills and dedication help drive our firm’s success while ensuring our clients receive the highest level of support and attention.

Born in Texas, but raised in Florida, Tala now calls Waterbury home. A graduate of Post University’s Malcolm Baldrige School of Business, Tala enjoys spending her free with her partner Eddy, and her son Jonathan. She is also an avid reader, enjoys spending time outdoors, and has a passion for interior design and the arts.

Staff AccountantSe eun Kim

Se eun Kim is a Staff Accountant with the Roberts Tax Group where she focuses on
bookkeeping for closely held businesses, federal and state compliance, and individual tax preparation and planning.

Prior to working in the accounting industry, she owned and operated an English learning center for International students, and assisted them with college testing and preparation including the SAT, IELTS, GRE, GMAT, and TOEFL exams.
Se eun received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Hartford.
Se eun resides in Goshen with her husband and two children, outside of work, she
enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and yoga.
